Brambles is a secluded romantic cottage for two, set within the private Forest Barns hamlet in the Gloucestershire countryside, near the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

This detached stone barn is made for couples who want privacy, comfort and a little bit of magic: a private hot tub on the balcony, valley views, a cosy log burner, open-plan living space and peaceful countryside all around.

Brambles is ideal for romantic breaks, anniversaries, birthdays, elopements, wedding nights, mini-moons or a quiet escape from busy life. It can be booked on its own for a peaceful cottage stay, or as part of an agreed wedding, elopement, group booking or exclusive-use arrangement at Forest Barns.

Brambles is offered as a peaceful romantic cottage stay for two, unless it forms part of an agreed elopement, wedding or exclusive-use arrangement.

Forest Barns does not mix individual cottage stays with large private weddings, celebrations or events, so you can relax and enjoy the type of stay you have booked.

Private weddings, celebrations and events are managed separately, with the relevant spaces and arrangements reserved for that booking.

Step outside to your own balcony hot tub, seating area and peaceful views across the valley. It is a lovely place for a glass of fizz, morning coffee, alfresco dining, quiet conversation or stargazing after dark.

The balcony is gated and private to Brambles guests, giving you your own outdoor space while still being part of the Forest Barns hamlet.

Cosy Open-Plan Living

Inside, Brambles has a warm open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen area designed for easy, relaxed self-catering.

The sitting area has a comfortable sofa, Sky TV and a glass-fronted log burner, making it cosy in autumn, winter and cooler spring evenings. The kitchen is well equipped for a romantic cottage stay, with dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, electric hob, oven and microwave.

The dining area has a glass bistro table and chairs, giving you the choice of eating indoors or taking drinks and supper out onto the balcony when the weather allows.

Bedroom and Bathroom

Brambles sleeps two guests in one romantic double bedroom.

The en-suite bathroom has natural limestone finishes, a bath and a hand-held thermostatic shower over. It is a compact, characterful cottage designed for couples rather than larger family stays.

Wedding Nights, Elopements and Mini-Moons

Brambles is a particularly lovely choice for couples getting married at Forest Barns.

After your ceremony or celebration, you can retreat to your own romantic cottage with private balcony hot tub, countryside views and a peaceful place to enjoy your first evening together.

Brambles can also work beautifully for elopements, wedding nights and mini-moon stays, subject to availability and the wedding or elopement arrangements agreed with Forest Barns.

Dogs and Small Pets

A very small pet may be accepted by prior arrangement only. Brambles is compact and has a balcony rather than a garden, so it is not suitable for all dogs or pets.

Travelling with an Infant

All of our properties are heated 24/7.  To make your stay less stressful and as comfortable as possible we provide a variety of items for those travelling with children.  There is no extra charge for any of the items listed below - please simply request at the time of booking.

For Baby: Moses basket, baby monitor, changing mat, steriliser, nappy bags and baby wipes,

For Toddlers: High-chair, travel cot (please provide your own bedding), Stair-gate(s) as necessary, potty, trainer toilet seat, toilet hop-up, booster seat, non-slip matt for bath, plastic cutlery & plastic plates. night light, bed guard side (only suitable on our single beds), brolly sheet for beds – in case of accidents! (only suitable on our single beds).

Part of the Forest Barns Private Hamlet

Brambles can be booked as a standalone romantic cottage for two, or as part of a larger Forest Barns stay.

Across the hamlet, Forest Barns sleeps up to 26 guests in five luxury self-catering cottages, each with its own private hot tub. Larger family gatherings and agreed private events can also make use of shared dining and function spaces, allowing everyone to eat together while still having the privacy of their own cottage.
