One of the greatest advantages of booking a Forest Barns group stay is that your guests can stay in separate luxury cottages, but still come together properly for meals, celebrations, meetings and relaxed time together.

Our dedicated group dining and gathering spaces give Sleeps 16 and Sleeps 26 bookings practical, comfortable places to eat, talk, celebrate, train, meet, watch photos or video, and enjoy time as one group.

It means your guests do not have to squeeze into one cottage for meals. Everyone can enjoy the privacy of their own cottage, bedroom, bathroom and hot tub, while still having a dedicated space reserved for your group to gather.

Forest Barns works differently. Because our group stays are arranged across separate cottages, your guests can enjoy privacy and comfort, while the dedicated dining and gathering space gives everyone somewhere to come together as one group.

Dining, Celebrations and Retreats

The room includes a kitchen/bar area, cloakroom, TV screen and pull-down screen for photos, slideshows or video. It can be used for private dining, relaxed buffets, catered meals, retreat sessions, family celebrations, speeches, quizzes or informal time together.

Catering, private chefs, bar arrangements, celebration touches and supplier access may be available by agreement, depending on the type of booking and the spaces required.

If you are planning anything more than a standard self-catering group stay, please contact us before booking so that guest numbers, timings, catering, bar arrangements and use of spaces can be agreed in advance.

Two Flexible Group Spaces

Forest Barns has two group spaces that may be available by arrangement, depending on the type of booking and the layout required.

For family celebrations and retreats, this can allow one room to be used for dining while another is used for children’s activities, quiet time, planning sessions, workshops, speeches, slideshows or informal gathering.

For corporate retreats and team away days, it can allow one room to remain set up for training or meetings while the other is used for meals and breaks.

Forest Barns can also suit small corporate retreats, leadership meetings, family business gatherings, planning days and team away days.

For business groups, one of the useful advantages is that we have two separate group spaces available by arrangement: one can be used for dining, while the other can be set up for training, meetings, workshops or presentations.

This means your team does not have to keep changing the same room from meeting layout to dining layout. You can meet, think and plan in one space, then move into a separate room for meals, breaks and informal conversation.

Facilities may include Wi-Fi, TV screen and a pull-down screen for photos, slideshows or video. Outside, guests can enjoy gardens, woodland walks, open countryside and relaxed outdoor space, making Forest Barns a good fit for teams who want to step away from the usual office or hotel environment.

Catering, private chefs, wellbeing sessions, guided walks or team-building activities may be arranged by agreement.

How It Works with Sleeps 16 and Sleeps 26

The dedicated group dining space is included with Forest Barns group stays, usually our Sleeps 16 and Sleeps 26 arrangements.

Sleeps 16 usually combines The Manor, The Stables and Brambles, giving your group three cottages, three private hot tubs and use of the dedicated dining and gathering space.

Sleeps 26 gives your group the full Forest Barns hamlet, with all five cottages, 13 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, five private hot tubs and use of the dedicated dining and gathering space.

Smaller groups may sometimes be able to hire the space for a fee, subject to availability and agreement. Please ask before booking if this is important for your stay.

The dedicated group dining space is designed for guests staying at Forest Barns as part of an agreed group booking. It is not a public restaurant, party venue or hotel-style function room.

Private celebrations, catered events, weddings, retreats, corporate events, bar arrangements and supplier access must be agreed with Forest Barns in advance.

This helps us make sure that the right cottages, spaces, timings and practical arrangements are reserved for your group.
