Get-Togethers – Private Group Stay Sleeping 16

Our Sleeps 16 Get-Togethers option is a private three-cottage group stay within the Forest Barns hamlet, combining The Manor, The Stables and Brambles for up to 16 guests.

This arrangement gives your group three individual cottages, three private hot tubs, 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and access to a shared function/dining space where everyone can gather together.

It is ideal for multi-generational family gatherings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, retreats, smaller celebrations, wedding accommodation and micro-weddings where you want privacy, comfort and space without needing the full five-cottage hamlet.

Guests can enjoy time together in the shared dining/function space, while still having the privacy of separate cottages at the end of the evening.

Private Group Stays and Events

Where Forest Barns is booked for an agreed private celebration, micro-wedding or event, the relevant cottages, spaces and arrangements are reserved for that booking, giving your group the privacy agreed as part of your stay.

Peaceful holiday stays and private events are managed separately, so guests can enjoy the type of stay they have booked.

The Sleeps 16 arrangement usually includes The Manor, The Stables and Brambles, giving your group a private cluster of cottages within the Forest Barns hamlet.

The Three Cottages Included

Up to 16 guests, 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 3 hot tubs and a dedicated dining/gathering space.

The Manor – sleeps 8
A secluded 17th-century luxury farmhouse with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, Aga kitchen, two sitting rooms, secure gardens, meadow views and private hot tub.

The Stables – sleeps 6
A cosy 5-star stone barn with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private hot tub, secure garden, log burner and a useful ground-floor en-suite king bedroom.

Brambles – sleeps 2
A romantic cottage for two with private balcony hot tub, valley views, open-plan living space and a cosy log burner.

Dedicated dining and gathering space for your group

One of the greatest advantages of booking Sleeps 16 at Forest Barns is that your group can stay in separate cottages but still gather together properly.

The dedicated function/dining room includes a kitchen/bar area, cloakroom, TV screen and pull-down screen for photos, slideshows or video. It can be useful for group meals, birthday suppers, relaxed celebrations, retreat sessions, children’s activities, family quizzes, speeches, memory slideshows or simply spending time together.

This means your group does not have to squeeze everyone into one cottage for meals. You can enjoy the comfort and privacy of separate accommodation, with a dedicated space reserved for your group to eat and gather together.

Perfect for Family Gatherings and Celebrations

Sleeps 16 is particularly well suited to families and groups who want more than a normal holiday cottage, but do not need the full five-cottage exclusive-use hamlet.

It gives your group the privacy of three separate cottages, the comfort of three private hot tubs, and a dedicated dining and gathering space where everyone can come together for meals, celebrations and relaxed time together.

This arrangement can work beautifully for:

• Grandparents gathering children and grandchildren
• Milestone birthdays
• Anniversaries
• Small retreats
• Micro-weddings and elopement stays
• Wedding guest accommodation
• Friends’ weekends
• Private dining and celebration weekends

It is a lovely option when you want everyone close together in one peaceful setting, while still giving different households, couples or generations their own cottage space at the end of the evening.

Should You Choose Sleeps 16 or Exclusive Use Sleeps 26?

If you are planning a group stay at Forest Barns, the main choice is usually between our Sleeps 16 Get-Togethers option and our full Sleeps 26 exclusive-use option.

Sleeps 16 gives your group a private three-cottage arrangement, usually The Manor, The Stables and Brambles. It works well when you want a special group stay with dedicated dining and gathering space, but do not need all five cottages across the full hamlet.

Exclusive Use Sleeps 26 gives your group the full Forest Barns hamlet, with all five cottages, 13 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and five private hot tubs. This is better for larger family gatherings, bigger celebrations, retreats and exclusive-use wedding weekends.

If you are not sure which option is best, please contact us before booking. We know every cottage, bedroom layout and gathering space, and can help you choose the most suitable arrangement for your group.

Need more than 16 guests?

If your group is slightly larger, it may sometimes be possible to add an additional cottage by arrangement, subject to availability and additional cost. This can be useful for groups who need more space than the standard Sleeps 16 arrangement, but do not necessarily require the full Sleeps 26 exclusive-use hamlet.

Children, Dogs and Practical Arrangements

Children are very welcome at Forest Barns, with a games room, outdoor play areas, gardens, chickens and woodland walks to enjoy.

Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement in suitable cottages. Fees apply, and dogs must be agreed at the time of booking so that we can make sure the cottage combination is right for your group.

To make life easier for you and our doggie guests' comfort, we provide the following for your stay:  your own private, fenced-in garden to keep your dog safe, a dog bed per dog, water bowl and green towel per dog.  There is a red dog poo bin and poo bags provided.  Sofa throws and holiday collar tags with our contact details.  There are warm water dog washing facilities available on site.  We also provide local veterinary contact information. 

We have a list of dog friendly pubs and restaurants of which there are many in the local area.  The Forest of Dean and Wye Valley is very doggie friendly.

If your group includes babies, young children, older guests, dogs, mobility considerations or a special celebration, please contact us before booking. We can talk through the cottage layout and help you decide whether Sleeps 16 is the right fit.

Micro-Weddings and Smaller Wedding Stays

Sleeps 16 may suit couples planning a smaller wedding stay, elopement or micro-wedding where the accommodation, ceremony and celebration can be kept intimate and carefully managed.

For wedding stays, The Manor, The Stables and Brambles can provide accommodation for up to 16 guests, with agreed use of gathering spaces and ceremony arrangements.  Up to 10 additional day guests may be considered by arrangement, depending on the type of wedding and the spaces required.

If you are planning any wedding, elopement or private celebration, please contact us before booking online so that guest numbers, timings, catering, bar arrangements and use of spaces can be agreed in writing.

Useful Before You Book

Sleeps 16 is best for groups who want a private three-cottage stay with dedicated gathering space. It is not the same as a hotel or public event venue, and any private celebration, retreat, wedding or catered event must be agreed with Forest Barns in advance.
